Thursday Thoughts

This week has been quite the week. Last weekend, I celebrated my birthday with my husband and our dogs. It was such a fun weekend, but with fun comes spent energy. By the time the weekend was over, I was so tired. As I continue my life in my 30's, I find it harder to do the same things I could do in my 20's without extra rest.
In my 20's, it seemed like I could do many things with limited sleep. I underperformed when I had a lack of sleep, but I could still do things to a certain degree and do them well enough. Now, in my 30's, I'm not able to do those same things as well with limited rest. I have to change my lifestyle to make certain things happen. I have to plan my day to ensure I take the time to rest and do the tasks I've scheduled for myself.
In the midst of the past 2 years, I have also been diagnosed with ADHD. During that time, I was able to see the coping mechanisms and strategies I came up with to appear neurotypical. Now that I'm in my 30's, and now that I have a clearer idea of why I do things and how I can do tasks, planning out my day and allowing room for plans to change is so important. I'm not as disappointed when I'm unable to reach all of my goals for each day.
In my 30's, I'm able to prioritize aspects of my life that are important to me, including my faith, family, friends, health, and more. While my priorities might appear to change day by day, my top priorities remain constant.
I hope you enjoyed this unedited, short snippet of my thoughts from this afternoon. It may be all over the place.
